I have been able to take local businesses who virtually had no presence on the internet and get their business listed not once but several times on the first page of Google and Yahoo for targeted keyword search terms that people would use to find a 'Dentist in ________' or a 'House Painter in ________'. Why I work online and what I want to accomplish Today there are many businesses who have paid a lot of money to have someone build them a website, but they are doing nothing to promote it other than adding it to their yellow pages ad or on their business cards. With the internet gaining such popularity, when people look for a particular type of business, they do a search on the internet. People pay a large part of their advertising budgets to the yellow pages which isn't as effective as it once was. There are thousands of 'Mom and Pop' local businesses that are missing out on a huge opportunity to get new customers if they could only get their business on the 1st or 2nd page of the search engines for targeted phrases that people use when search for a business. Working with local businesses has been very rewarding, not so much as financial gain (although that has been great), but to actually help businesses be more competitive in their area of expertise to help them get more customers and increase their bottom line What I do online I have been involved with internet marketing since 2005. Before that I worked in corporate America as a senior executive in the electric utility business. After taking an early retirement (if after 30 years is early) I became involved with internet marketing quite by accident...but that's another story. I got started in affiliate marketing which I still do today and make a really good income, but over the past 2 years I have change my focus to helping local businesses get exposure on the internet through my video marketing service. I work with several businesses both in my own local area and a few in other states. Most have their own website, if they don't and they want one, I make one for them. I then create video commercials about their business and get them listed on the 1st or 2nd page of the search engines like Google. I do this through my Video Marketing service that I provide.
